Rava-peanut-gram Ladoo, and a Shubh Aarambh ! :)

It's Pongal today, as auspicious as it gets for new beginnings. Though I'm not particularly enthusiastic about the festival, it sure seemed like a good day to get started with the blog; and a reason to rustle up something sweet in my kitchen :)
I always thought of ladoo's as a difficult delicacy to make. That's true for Boondi/Motichoor ladoo's but needing just 5 easy ingredients, these Rawa-peanut-gram ladoo's were a breeze to put together. While I'm at it, I'm also wondering if this may be my own original recipe since I found several recipes for Rava ladoos, Peanut ladoo's and Maaladoo's online, but not this 3 in 1 version anywhere. Pat on the back ! :D
The main ingredients can be tweaked to suit your fancy or whatever is available. Any of the ingredients can be replaced with cashewnuts, almonds, coconut, sesame or besan flour and the result will be equally awesome. Now that's not just original but supremely versatile as well !

Steps
- 1
Heat a tsp of ghee and lightly roast the rava. Take it off the heat before it starts to change colour and set aside to cool. Similarly roast the gram dal and peanuts lightly, for around 2-3 mins and set aside to cool.
- 2
Once cooled, powder the gram dal and peanuts very finely. Combine well with the roasted rava, the mixture will amount to a cup. Add the sugar, and cardamom powder if using, into this and mix very well. All the better if the mixture can be sieved, to make sure it combines evenly.
- 3
Spread the mixture on a plate and pour in the melted ghee while it's still warm. Mix well and roll into laddoo's. If the ladoo's dont hold shape, add ghee little by little till they come together.
