Melt the margarine, then mix it with 1 cup of sugar and the egg by hand. Add the flour and knead well until you have a soft dough that doesn't stick to your fingers. Let the dough rest.

Peel the apples and grate them using the large holes of a box grater. Mix the grated apples with the cinnamon and the second cup of sugar.

Butter a tart pan well. Set aside a handful of dough. Press the remaining dough evenly into the pan to cover the bottom and sides, making sure it's smooth and even.

Spread the apple mixture evenly over the dough base.

Add a little more flour to the dough you set aside, then crumble it over the apple mixture.

Bake the apple pie for about 30 minutes at 350°F (180°C), adjusting for your oven as needed.
