Wash and sock lentils over night. In the morning grind it coarsely. Make it into smooth batter. If is too thick add some water.

Add chopped onion, and all spices mix it well.heat tava,rub some oil on it and pour spoonful of mixture into the tava and spread it in a circular motion. So the shap become rounds.

Add the little oil along the edges of the chilla,cover and cook for 2to4 min.turn the chilla over and cook on the other side until is gets brown patches. Serve hot.
