Ingredients

  2. 1 cupsemolina (sooji , rawa )
  3. 1 cupchickpea flour (besan)
  4. 1 cupcurd
  5. salt
  6. 1/2tspn red chilli powder
  7. 1/2tspn turmeric powder
  8. 4-5tspn boiled beetroot puree
  9. 1/4 cupblanched spinach puree
  10. 1 tbspnsugar
  11. 1juice of lemon
  12. sacheteno
  13. oil for greasing  and for tempering
  14. 1 tbspnmustard seeds
  15. handfulcurry leaves
  16. 5-6silted green chilli

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix sooji and besan with 1 cup curd - add  salt, red chilli powder, sugar, lemon juice - add water to get required consistencyand let it rest for an hour

    Make the puree of boiled beetroot - make the puree of blanched spinach - divide the batter into 3 portions - in 1st one add turmeric powder - in 2nd add beetroot puree - in 3rd one add spinach puree

    Put steamer on boil - grease idli dishes - add eno in mixture  in all the three bowls and put the batter in dishes (put 1 tspn of yellow batter, then add green batter and then red one)...give a slight tap - steam for 15 min

  4. 4

    Let it cool and then scrape them out - cut them in half

  5. 5

    Put oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, slited green chilli - add idlis and mix with soft hands
