Ingredients

  • 2 lbmixed berries in any combination you like, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries etc fresh or thawed frozen
  • 3/4 cupgranulated sugar
  • 1 tsplemon juice
  • 1 tbspcornstarch
  • 1/2 tspground cinnamon
  • 1FOR TOPPING
  • 1/2 cupflour
  • 2/3 cupquick cooking rolled oats
  • 1/2 cuppacked light brown sugar
  • 1/4 tspground ginger
  • 1 dashso about 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cupmini semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 tbspcold butter cut into small cubes

    Preheat oven to 375

  2. 2

    In a large bowl gently but thoroughly combine your mixture of berries with cornstarch, granulated sugar and cinnamon. Pour into a buttered 2 quart baking dish or 6 individual 10 to 12 ounce ramekins

  3. 3

    Combine all topping ingredients in same bowl and with a pastry cutter; fork or fingers mix to a very coarse crumble mixture

  4. 4

    Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the berries. Bake on a cookie sheet for about 40 minutes or until bubbly.If you use the ramekin the time will be a bit shorter

  5. 5

    Serve hot with whipped cream or ice cream....or both! Garnish with fresh berries.

“Fenway” passed away on 2/3/2021. For the last year she tried to teach her husband of 42 years how to cook like her. Although I will never be as good of a cook as her she did pass on her passion for cooking. Therefore, I will attempt to carry on her legacy and maintain/update her site. My wife was a Registered Nurse, a licensed deep water aerobics instructor, a mother to our 2 children and a fantastic cook. We grew up in New England but have been fortunate to live all over the US. I am now retired, missing her terribly, but thankful for all the years we had together and all her cooking lessons.
