Ingredients

  1. Lentil patty
  2. 1 cupDry lentils (brown)
  3. 1 mediumOnion minced
  4. 1/2 cupRolled oats
  5. 1/4 cupBread crumbs
  6. 3 tbspFlaxseed
  7. 1 tbspSoy sauce
  8. 1 mediumCarrot grated
  9. Toppings
  10. 1Kaiser rolls
  11. 1Lettuce leaves
  12. 1Tomato slices
  13. 1Pickles
  14. 1Mustard
  15. 1Ketchup

Cooking Instructions

    Cook lentils in 2 1/2 cups water until soft and almost all water is absorbed.

    In a pan sauté carrots and onion until soft

    In a large bowl place cooked lentils, carrot, onion, oats, bread crumbs and soy sauce and mix well.

    Form patties while mixture is warm. (Be careful to heat test mixture before forming patties to avoid burns), keep hands moist with water to avoid sticking. Yields 8-10 patties.

    You can freeze patties in single sandwich bags for easy meals.

    Lightly pan grill the patty on each side

  7. 7

    Build burger with preferred toppings and enjoy

The kids loved it!! My carnivore son, whom is very picky about veggies, loved it and asked for a second one. They freeze easy.
