bring pot of water to boil. remove husks from tomatillos and rinse well. cook the tamatillos in the boiling water until soft, 5-8 mins. drain & set to side.

toast garlic cloves, jalepeno and onion in a dry skillet. med heat, turning occasionally, until browned, frgrant & soft, 5-7 mins.

when cool to handle, peel the garlic. remove the jalepeno stem & seeds if desired. combine the tamatillos, garlic, jalepeno, onion, & avacado in a blender or food. process until smooth. stir in cilantro, salt & pepper
