Set oven at 350

Mix dates, 1 tsp baking soda and boiling water - set aside

Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla

In separte bowl sift flour and 1 tsp baking soda

With mixer on add to creamed mixture the sifted dry ingrediants and the date mixture - alternating between flour and date mixture

Pour into greased cans, fill 2/3 of the can - makes 4
cans

Bake at 350 for 40 - 50 minutes
