  1. Biscuits
  2. 2 cupAll purpose flour
  3. 1 tbspSugar
  4. 1 tbspBaking powder
  5. 2 tspGarlic powder
  6. 1/2 tspKosher salt
  7. 1/4 tspCayenne pepper (optional)
  8. 1 cupButtermilk
  9. 1/2 cupUnsalted butter, melted
  10. 1 1/2 cupShredded sharp cheddar cheese
  11. Topping
  12. 3 tbspUnsalted butter, melted
  13. 1 tbspChopped fresh parsley
  14. 1/2 tspGarlic powder

    Preheat oven to 450°F.

  2. 2

    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, set aside.

  3. 3

    In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and cayenne pepper, if using.

  4. 4

    In a large glass measuring cup or another bowl, whisk together buttermilk and butter. Pour mixture over dry ingredients and stir using a rubber spatula just until moist. Gently fold in cheese.

  5. 5

    Using a 1/4-cup measuring cup, scoop the batter evenly onto the prepared baking sheet. Place into oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    For the topping, whisk together butter, parsley and garlic powder in a small bowl. Working one at a time, brush the tops of the biscuits with the butter mixture.

  7. 7

    Serve immediately.
