  • Sauce
  • 2 tbsphoisin sauce
  • 1 tbspoyster sauce
  • 1 tbspmirin (sweet rice wine)
  • 2 tspbrown sugar
  • 2 tspsoy sauce
  • 2 tspcrushed red pepper flakes (or more)
  • Everything Else
  • 1 lbboneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into 1-inch thick strips or cubes
  • 2 clovegarlic (3 if small cloves)
  • 1red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1yellow onion, sliced
  • 2green onions, chopped diagonally
  • 3 tbsppeanut oil (or vegetable or canola oil)
  • 1/4 cupcornstarch

  1. 1

    Mix together the hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, brown sugar, soy sauce, and crushed red pepper flakes and set aside.

  2. 2

    Dredge the chicken pieces in cornstarch.

  3. 3

    Heat 2 tbs oil in a wok or pan.

  4. 4

    Cook the chicken over medium high heat until done and then set aside.

  5. 5

    Add 1 tbs oil to pan, then cook the garlic, onion, green onion, and red pepper for a couple of minutes.

  6. 6

    Mix everything together and serve over rice or noodles.
