Simple, delicious, no fuss ham that's sure to please

Again Brittlby from Elliquiy has given an idea for an interesting recipe. This was originally lacquered bacon but I had some plain cheap ham lying around that looked like it needed the same sort of treatment.

It was like eating candy bacon. So good.

I loooooove ham. But up until recently, I have never made my own ham. I always thought that it was hard. Plus, I did not want to use the glaze that they provided with the ham. I looked around at different glaze recipes, but none of them appealed to me. After some searching, I decided to make my own recipe.The most important and first thing to do when using this recipe, throw out the glaze packet that they provide with the ham.Enjoy!

This is what i made for Christmas last year. I used to make it with ordinary mashed potatoes, but this time I added cream cheese for richness.Add cream cheese while the potato is still hot, so that it melts while mashing. You don't have to make the mashed potatoes totally smooth, so a wooden spatula is fine. The flavors become muted when the potato has cooled, so add a bit more salt and pepper than you normally would.
