Preheat oven to 350°F

Grease a square baking pan. (Double the recipe for 8x11)

[Important] Have your ingredients set out and ready because you need to mix your ingredients while the butter is still warm

Melt the butter. Either low heat in a saucepan or in the microwave

Remove melted butter from heat, add cocoa and stir until well-blended

Add sugar and mix well

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition

[DO NOT OVER-BEAT/STIR/MIX/FOLD] Stir in vanilla, flour and salt. "Fold" the flour rather than beating or mixing - you want to keep the mix from becoming whipped and aerated.

Fold in nuts

Spread in prepared pan and bake 40 min
