Easiest Ice Cream Ever (No Cream, No Machine!)

I couldn't find an ice cream recipe without cream, so I began experimenting. The simple mixture of milk, sugar, and vanilla extract that I had was too thin, and I knew it would end up more like ice. So I thought of potential thickeners that wouldn't have a negative effect on the taste, and I came up with powdered sugar. I loved it!

Steps
- 1
In a small bowl, combine milk, sugar, and vanilla extract.
- 2
Whisk in powdered sugar (whisking will help to break up any clumps)
- 3
If you want vanilla ice cream, leave mixture as is. For chocolate, stir in cocoa powder. For chocolate chip, stir in chocolate chips.
- 4
Pour in a bowl with a larger surface area at the bottom. The more spread out the mixture is, the faster it will freeze.
- 5
Place in freezer for two to three hours, stirring about every 30 minutes.
- 6
Stir again before serving to spread the flavor throughout. Enjoy!
