Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt and optional ingredients.

Stir in apples until covered.

Pour into pie crust, add several dots of butter to the top of the mix.

Cover with 2nd pie crust, if you like you can cut the second pie crust into strips and weave it over the top of you pie.

Bake at 425° until crust turns brown, about 30 minutes.
- 6
Hint: cover edges of the pie after 15 to 20 minutes to prevent excessive browning.
