Ingredients

  1. 1 cupSplit Yellow Gram (soaked for 1 hour)
  2. 2-3 tbspCoriander Leaves Chopped
  3. 2 Big Onion
  4. 4-5Medium Tomatoes
  5. 1 inchGinger
  6. 3-4Green Chilli
  7. 1 tspTurmeric Powder
  8. for tempering
  9. To tasteSalt
  10. 4-5Red Chilli
  11. 2 tablespoonsFenugreek Leaves
  12. 1/2 tspGaram Masala
  13. 1 tspDeggi Mirch

Steps

  1. 1

    Finely chop onion, tomatoes, ginger and green chillies.

  2. 2

    Add soaked dal, chopped onion, chopped tomatoes, chopped green chillies, chopped ginger, salt, turmeric powder and 2-3 cups of water and pressure cook till 1 whistle on medium flame and then lower the flame and cook for another 15 minutes.

    Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid and keep aside.

  4. 4

    In a pan add red chillies, fenugreek leaves, deggi mirch, garam masala and dry roast for 15-20 seconds and turn off the flame.

  5. 5

    Pour tempering into dal and mix well.

  6. 6

    Add some chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
