Honey glazed salmon

Bought wild sockeye salmon from trader Joe's (honestly not the best quality, but acceptable) and want to give "honey glazed salmon" a try. So I googled and read several recipes to get some ideas and came up my own version. Trader Joe's only has skin-on fresh salmon so this recipe is for skin-on version and I have some hard time to remove the skin myself. If you have skinless salmon, then cook both sides for 3 minutes instead.

  3. 3

Add oil to a large skillet over medium high heat. Place the salmon with skin side facing down once the oil is heated. Cook for 6 - 7 minutes.

  4. 4

While cooking the salmon, mix all the honey, soy sauce, red pepper flakes and lemon juice in a big bowl or measuring cup. Stir and mix well.

  5. 5

Flip the salmon (so skin side facing up) and cook for another 1 minute.

  6. 6

Add the mixed sauce to the skillet and continue to cook for 3 - 5 minutes, until sauce is thick.

  7. 7

Turn off heat and use a pair of chopsticks or a fork to remove the skin (it should be very easy to peel off).

  8. 8

Place the salmon on a serving plate and pour the sauce over the salmon. You may sprinkle some herbs like oregano or parsley over the salmon.

I am a Hong Kong girl living in the US for study. I love to cook, but I also do not have much time and cookware, so my recipes are usually very quick and simple and ingradients are easy to find. I have lactose intolerance and so my recipes are all diary free :)
