Steps
- 1
Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it (I usually soak it for half a day, but sometimes just half an hour if I'm in a hurry). Sometimes I soak it with the cinnamon sticks, sometimes without.
- 2
Blend the rice with the soaking water, add one more cup of water, and the cinnamon sticks. Blend well until the rice is very fine.
- 3
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer. Once strained, add the tablespoon of vanilla extract, the milk, and more water if needed. Stir well so the milk and vanilla are fully combined.
- 4
Sweeten with sugar to taste.
- 5
Chill in the refrigerator or serve over ice.
- 6
Enjoy this delicious, affordable, homemade, and easy drink.
