This is an unique Bengali recipe served mostly at special occasions and guests are sure to enjoy this simple but offbeat recipe.Plastic chutney gets it's name from the transparency of the papita and cooked either grated or sliced into paper thin small chips with a slicer.This chutney can be stored for a week .

Cut 1 medium raw papita into chunks and scrape it after discarding seeds and skin.Boil it with pinch of salt for 5 minutes. Water should just cover the scraped papita.Add sugar and boil till it becomes sticky.

When done, add juice of 1 lime approximately 3 tbsp.Taste should be sweet and sour.When partially cool sprinkle raisins and toss.Serve chilled with lunch or dinner.
