Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupChana Dal (Bengal gram)
  2. to tasteSalt
  3. 1 tspginger garlic paste
  4. 1chopped onion
  5. leavesCurry
  6. 2green chilli
  7. Oil for deep frying

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and soak chana dal in water for 2 hours. Transfer soaked dal to a colander and drain the water.

  2. 2

    Combine the soaked chana dal, green chillies, in a mixer and blend to a thick coarse paste

  3. 3

    Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl, add all the remaining ingredients and mix well using your hands.and make round flat vada.

  4. 4

    Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, deep-fry a few vadas at a time on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.

  5. 5

    Now it is ready to serve with coconut chutney.
