Ingredients

30 minutes
3-4 servings
  • For dough
  • 2 cuprefined flour (maida)
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • 2 tbspoil
  • as neededWater to knead
  • as neededOil for deep frying
  • For katori chaat
  • 1 cupboiled peas
  • 1potato boiled & cubed
  • 1/4thcup mint chutney
  • 1/4 cuptamarind chutney
  • 1/4 cupyogurt
  • 1/2 cupmoong sprouts
  • 1/4th cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cupchopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cupkhara boondi
  • 1/4 tspKashmiri chilli powder to sprinkle
  • 1/4 tspChat masala powder to sprinkle
  • to tasteCumin powder to sprinkle
  • as neededFew chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Firstly prepare dough of maida (prp like chapati dough)

  2. 2

    Now pinch a ball sized dough, flatten it

  3. 3

    Dust flour as required & roll like chapati

  4. 4

    Cut into strips

  5. 5

    Put one strip over another in opposite direction & get a plus sign. Place a small katori and wrap this

    Deep fry in hot oil

    Splash oil till katori seprates from the dough

  8. 8

    Once steel katori is seprated from dough,remove it out of oil

  9. 9

    Now fry katori till it turns golden and crisp

  10. 10

    Drain off over kitchen paper & keep aside

    Prepare chat by assembling katori in a plate

  12. 12

    First add boiled cubed potatoes next add chopped tomatoes and onions followed by boiled peas and sprouts, next add khara boondi, add mint chutney,tamarind chutney, yogurt, sev, coriander leaves

    Sprinkle red chilli powder,chat masala powder & cumin powder

    Serve katori chaat immediately

    You can use kabuli chana/cheakpeas instead of peas.
