Ingredients

4 servings
  • 1 cupSweet potato Peeled and finely chopped or Grated
  • 1/2 ltrMilk
  • 3 tbspSugar or jaggery or milkmad
  • 2 tspghee
  • As neededChopped cashews, pista and almonds for garnishing
  • 1/4 tspcardamom powder (elaichi)
  • 2-3Saffron strands

Steps

30 mins
  1. 1

    Wash, peel and grate sweet potatoes.
    Heat ghee in a pan, Roast the cashews and almonds in ghee. Fry till little brown and remove them in bowl and set aside.

  2. 2

    To same ghee add grated sweet potato and saute for 2-3 minutes.
    Then add milk and let it boil on low flame for about 10 minutes until the milk thickens. Stirring constantly.

  3. 3

    Add sugar and cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame.
    Add cardamom powder and mix well.

  4. 4

    Garnish with roasted nuts.
    Serve hot or cold.

  5. 5

    Adjust the quantity of sugar as needed.

  6. 6

    You can also use milkmad or jaggery.
    You can keep in refrigerator and serve chilled.
