Ingredients

3 servings
  1. 1 cupBasmati rice
  2. 2 cupsSpinach leaves
  3. 1medium onion chopped
  4. 1 teaspoongaram/ biryani masala
  5. to tasteSalt
  6. 1 teaspoonghee
  7. 2green chillies slit
  8. 1/4 cuppeas optional
  9. 4-5garlic cloves minced
  10. 2 cupswater
  11. 1/2 teaspoonpepper

Steps

30 mins
  1. 1

    Soak biryani rice for 30 minutes. Drain excess water. Keep it aside. Heat ghee in a pan. Add garlic and saute until aromat

  2. 2

    Add onions and green chillies. Saute until translucent

  3. 3

    Add peas and saute for a minute

  4. 4

    Add spinach and saute until leaves wilt

  5. 5

    Add pepper and biryani masala. Mix well. Saute for a minute

  6. 6

    Add rice to pan and mix well

  7. 7

    Now add water and salt in pan. Bring to boil

  8. 8

    Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes over low heat until rice is done

  9. 9

    Open, gently fluff rice. Serve hot with raita
