Steps

Take vessel. Pour water/stock. Heat it on high flame. Crush the ginger, chilli, garlic, pepper and jeera lightly using a mortar and pestle.

Add it to the hot water. Lower the flame. Add turmeric. Let it come to a boil.

Once it's boiling and quantity of liquid has reduced by a quarter add jaggery(if u want to ease the heat from the pepper and chilli) or salt (if you like spicy).

Turn off stove. Strain and serve hot. Very good for cold.
