Ingredients

6persons
  1. 6large juicy tomatoes
  2. 2 tbspoil
  3. 2 sprigscurry leaves
  4. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  5. 2 tbspgram flour
  6. 3/4 tspturmeric powder
  7. 2Kashmiri chillies
  8. 4green chillies chopped
  9. 1 pinchasafoetida
  10. 2corn cut in cobs
  11. 2onions
  12. 2-3 clovesgarlic
  13. 2" piece ginger
  14. as neededCoriander leaves finely chopped

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut the corn cobs into 1" thick pieces and boil or steam them with a little salt till the corn gets tender.

  2. 2

    Cut into pieces of tomatoes, onion, garlic, ginger.

  3. 3

    Add 1/4 cup water and pressure cook till soft.

  4. 4

    Cool and rub through a sieve after mashing in the mixer. Set the juice aside.

  5. 5

    Heat oil and add gram flour. Fry it, stirring continuously. When it turns brown, add cumin seeds, asafetida, chillies and turmeric powder.

  6. 6

    After a minute, add tomato juice. Boil, reduce flame and cook uncovered for about five minutes.

  7. 7

    Add corn cobs, salt and sufficient water. Cook till the gravy thickens.

  8. 8

    Cover the curry partially and cook on slow heat, stirring occasionally for about 20 minutes.

  9. 9

    Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
