Ingredients

20 minutes
4 servings
  • 20big size of prawns
  • For masala paste-
  • 1/2 cupfreshly grated coconut
  • 6garlic cloves
  • 1 tspcumin seeds
  • 1 tsppeppercorn
  • 1 tbspCoriander seeds
  • 1 tsptamarind paste
  • 10kadhmiri chillies
  • 1 cupcoconut milk
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 1 tspchilli powder(optional)
  • Other ingredients-
  • 2 tbspcoconut oil
  • 1/2 cupfinely chopped oniin
  • 1 tbspgrated ginger
  • 1/2 cupfinely chopped tomato
  • to tasteSalt
  • leavesFew Curry
  • 1 cupwater or as required

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Grind all the ingredients given to make fine masala paste

  2. 2

    Remove the shell and Devain the prawns. Wash and keep aside.

  3. 3

    In a pan heat oil, add grated ginger then add onion.fry till they turn brown.

  4. 4

    Add tomatoes, fry until they get soft and mushy.

  5. 5

    Add masala paste and salt.

  6. 6

    Fry masala for 5-7 minutes.

  7. 7

    Add prawns. Cover and cook for few minutes.

  8. 8

    Add water if required.Cook till prawns get cooked. It will take less than 10 minutes.

  9. 9

    Add curry leaves, switch off the flame. Let it rest for atleast 5 minutes.

  10. 10

    Serve with steamed rice.
