Ingredients

  1. 3 springsparsley
  2. 1 fullChicken
  3. 1spring thyme/ rosemary
  4. 1-2dried bay leaves
  5. 2garlic cloves unpeeled
  6. 12black peppercorns
  7. 2onions
  8. Unpeeled carrots
  9. Celery sticks (no leaves)
  10. 2leeks (white part only)
  11. Cold water (add hot water to speed up the process)

Steps

  1. 1

    In a pot add all the above ingredients.

    Add enough cold water to the pot. The water must cover the ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer on low to medium heat for 2 hours.

    Remove from heat and take out chicken pieces. Strain the stock through a sieve and pour into bottles to store.

    Your chicken stock is done. You can use chicken and vegetables for whatever you want to do with them. I shred the chicken and use it for chicken ala king.

Well done Lindo on making chicken stock from scratch! Isn't it so much worth it to make it yourself! :) I love keeping chicken bones aside in the freezer and then making my stocks from scratch.
