Add onions to pan with oil and cook until browned

Add the blanched peas and carrots with salt and cook few seconds

Add rice to pan and let cook for a few minutes tossing well

Pour in the water, cover pan with lid and turn the heat to high. Let rice cook until the water has significantly reduced and you can now see the rice at the top

Turn heat to very low and let rice simmer slowly until rice has dried up

Fluff rice to mix it in and make the rice to be single strands

Tip. If you cook rice and the water has completely dissolved yet the rice is still a bit hard, just keep it covered and the steam will finish the cooking. Adding water will make your rice soggy

Serve rice with stew 🍲
