Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 4 tablespoonsolive oil
  2. 2chopped onions
  3. 5grated tomatoes
  4. 4 tablespoonscooked ground beef (or cured meat)
  5. 1 teaspoonblack pepper
  6. 1 tablespoonsalt, or to taste
  7. 1 cupcoarse bulgur
  8. 1 1/2 cupswater (about 355 ml)
  9. 3 tablespoonstomato paste

Steps

  1. 1

    Sauté the onions and ground beef in olive oil until well browned.

  2. 2

    Add the tomatoes and cook over low heat until they soften and the mixture thickens. Add salt.

  3. 3

    Stir in the bulgur, tomato paste, water, and more salt if needed (to taste).

  4. 4

    Cover the pot and cook over low heat until the bulgur is tender. Serve with vegetables.
