One of our favourite savoury snack prepared during Diwali festival. Wada made from split green moongdal.
Cooking Instructions

Wash and soak split green mung dal for 8 hours. Discard the soaked water,add fresh water and de skin the soaked dal.

Add chopped green chillies,ginger pieces,de skin mung dal into small mouth deep container. Grind it to smooth paste batter with the help of Boss hand grinder.

Add asafoetida,salt to taste in prepared mung dal batter, mix well.Heat oil in kadhai. With the help of small round spoon take little portion of prepared mung dal batter,drop it in hot oil, similarly add few more.

Deep fry vadas in hot oil on medium flame till golden brown... similarly prepared more mung dal vadas from remaining batter.

While the fried mung dal vada are still hot put them in water(add 1/2 tsp salt in water) filled bowl.Soak them for 5-8 minutes till they are soft.

Take the soaked vada out of water one by one,press them with your palms to remove excess water. Similarly repeat the process with remaining vadas.

In serving plate arrange prepared mung dal vadas. On it pour beaten curd, 1 tbsp khajur chutney on each vada as shown.

Sprinkle red chilli powder, roasted cumin seed powder & garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves.

For khajur chutney...de seeded 1 cup dates,add enough water, pressure cook for 4 whistles. Cool and grind in mixer to smooth paste. Add water if needed to make thick pouring consistency chutney..add 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder and 1/4 tsp roasted cumin seed powder,salt to taste. Use as required.

Serve / relish Green Mung dal Dahi vada as savoury snack during Diwali festival.
