Ingredients

  1. 1 cupall-purpose flour
  2. 1 teaspoonoil for shortening
  3. 3 1/2 ounces (100 grams)khoya/mawa
  4. 3 1/2 ounces (100 grams)sugar
  5. 1/2 cupfinely chopped dried fruits
  6. 1/2 teaspooncardamom powder
  7. 7-8cloves
  8. as neededOil for frying
  9. For the syrup
  10. 1 cupsugar
  11. 1 cupwater

Cooking Instructions

    In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, shortening oil, and water to knead a soft dough.

    In a pan, cook the khoya and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Turn off the heat and mix in the dried fruits and cardamom powder. Let it cool.

    Cook 1 cup of sugar and water for 5-7 minutes to make a syrup.

    Roll out small circles from the dough.

    Take one circle, place a little prepared khoya filling in the center, fold all four corners, and secure with a clove. Repeat to make all Laung Latikas.
