Pilau is my all time favorite meal.. Ever since I was little, I would eat loads of pilau whenever mom made it. I cooking it and even enjoy eating it more
Here is a very simple recipe to make the yummiest pilau
Steps
- 1
Put the meat cut up into bite size pieces into a cooking pan, sprinkle some salt and add water then boil on medium heat until tender
- 2
In a different cooking pan, add the oil, then add the onion and sauté until it starts to get translucent, add the ginger-garlic paste and mix until the raw smell of garlic is dispelled. Just a few seconds.
- 3
Add in the pilau mix/pilau masala(whatever you call it) mix then add in your meat, some salt to taste and 2 cups of water, cover and let it come to a boil.
- 4
Add in the rice and let cook until all the liquid is dispelled. Cover and steam on low heat for about 5 minutes then turn off the heat.
- 5
Let cool for a few minutes then serve, or you can as well serve immediately.. Enjoy with some kachumbari 😋 Bon Appétit
