Steps

Soak rice for 1 hour.Strain it and spread it on a white cotton cloth and allow it to dry.

Once dried grind it, the texture should neither be too powdery or too grainy.It should resemble the texture of suji/rawa.

Now heat milk in a heavy bottomed kadhai,stir continuously to avoid burning.

Add powdered rice gradually into the milk and keep stirring constantly to avoid any lumps.

Once the Quantity reduce to half add sugar and stir.

Then add grated khoya/mawa.Add cardamom powder and stir.

As the rice thickens remove from the heat and pour the phirni into serving bowls.You can also pour into small earthen pots now garnish with dry fruits of your choice and allow it to cool.

Once cooled refrigerate it and serve chilled.Enjoy this with family and friends.

Note: you can also use basmati rice.
