Ingredients

  • 1 cupMaida/ Flour
  • 1/2 tspBaking Powder
  • 1 tspbaking soda
  • 4 tbspCocoa Powder
  • 3/4 CupPowder Sugar
  • 1/2 Cupmilk
  • 1/2 CupOil
  • 1/2 Cupcurd
  • 2 tspInstant Coffee Powder
  • 1 tspVanilla Essence
  • 2 CupsWhipped Cream
  • 1/2-1 Cup Glazed Cherries for garnish

Steps

  1. 1

    Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees C. Grease and dust 2 8 inch cake tins of same shape.

  2. 2

    In a bowl mix together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda.

  3. 3

    Make a well in the centre and add oil, milk, curd and vanilla.

  4. 4

    Mix until all the ingredients are incorporated along with coffee powder.

  5. 5

    Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Place the tin on the wire rack.

  7. 7

    Flip the cake on the rack, remove the lining paper and allow it to cool completely before using it with any other filling and frosting.

  8. 8

    You can also wrap it up in cling wrap and refrigerate to use it later.

  9. 9

    I have used whipped cream for icing and glazed cherries.Decorating the cake is according to our choice, since it’s Christmas time, I have used Red and White colours.
