Steps
- 1
Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
Slice the apples into very thin slices. Place the slices in a bowl with lemon juice and half glass of water. Toss gently so that the liquid will cover evenly all the apple slices. Put inside the microwave at 600 watt for 3 minutes or until softened. Set aside.
- 2
Cut the pastry sheet into 6 2-inch equal slices. Spread cream cheese over the pastry slices, and dash with sugar. Place apple slices along half of the pastry slice with the peel side facing out, overslapping slices slightly and dash with generous amount of cinnamon. Fold half of the pastry over the apple slices to form a long folder.
- 3
Starting in one end, roll the pastry and apple not so tightly to the other end to form a rose-shaped pastry. Place the apple roses in muffin tins and put the tins inside the preheated oven.
- 4
Bake for about 40 to 45 minutes or until golden browned. Leave to cool for 10 minutes. Remove roses from the tins and dust with icing sugar, if desired. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if you want.
