Fruit coated with dark crunchy chocolate

We were invited to a "let's cook together" evening meal yesterday. There were four of us and we all agreed to cook one thing - I volunteered dessert, searched "strawberries and chocolate" in Spanish Cookpad and liked these chocolate coated strawberries. As I had half a pineapple in the fridge I decided to do a combo - they were absolutely delicious and next time I make them (probably next weekend so my sons can try them) I will serve with vanilla ice cream and cold cava. Here's the recipe :-)

Steps
- 1
Wash and cut the fruit. Don't cut the strawberry leaves off like I did - much better to leave them on and then you can hold onto them when dipping in the chocolate. Much less messy and slippy...
- 2
Put water in a large pan. Put a smaller pan inside. Break the chocolate into pieces and put them in the small pan. Gently melt the chocolate over a moderate heat.
- 3
When the chocolate is melted find a small bowl
- 4
Pour the chocolate in
- 5
Coat the strawberries with the chocolate. Cut a couple of oranges in half and stick some cocktail sticks in to the skin. Ease the coated fruit pieces onto the other end of the cocktail stick. I started by piercing the fruit first and then sticking the cocktail stick in to the orange but chocolate dripped everywhere (see next step for the evidence!!!). By the time I realised it was much less messy the other way round I had nearly finished....
- 6
When you have coated the fruit, put the oranges into the fridge near the top and leave for an hour
- 7
After an hour the chocolate will have hardened and you are left with these delicious - and healthy!! - crunchy chocolate fruit bites. Enjoy!!
