Smokey Taco Beef Jerky

This is an easy way to make great tasting beef jerky. I never use the seasoning packets that come in the box of taco shells, I find them too salty. I was going through my pantry and found like 4 of them and thought I have to be able to find a use for them some how then jerky came to mind. With the addition of a couple extra ingredients a great batch of jerky was born!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbsground tenderloin tips (any lean grd beef will work)
  • 1 packagetaco seasoning
  • 3 dropsliquid smoke
  • 2 tbspsoy sauce
  • 1 tbspapple cider vinegar

Steps

  1. 1

    Grind 2 lbs of lean beef, I used tenderloin tips. Any lean cut will work or pre ground is fine too.

    Add all ingredients together and let marinate overnight.

  3. 3

    Stuff into a jerky gun and squeeze out onto the dehydrator racks. I used a wide tip, it has about half an inch opening. I've made this with a 1/4 or so size similar to a Slim Jim size and just didn't get the tenderness I wanted.

    Dehydrate according to the instructions for your dehydrator or use the oven at the lowest temperature. Mine took about 28-30 hrs.
