Steps
- 1
Peel the sweet potatoes and place them in a bowl of lightly salted water to prevent them from turning black. Cut the potatoes into slices and steam or boil them until soft. Then, mash the potatoes finely.
- Prepare the toasted sesame seeds, milk, unsalted butter, and egg. - 2
Add the butter and milk to the mashed potatoes. Mix well. Shape the potato mixture into round, square, or rectangular cakes as desired. Each cake should weigh about 2 ounces (60 grams) for a nice size.
- 3
Use a brush to coat both sides of the cakes with egg yolk. Roll them in toasted sesame seeds. Then, bake the cakes in the oven at 350°F (180°C) for 15 minutes.

The cakes are beautifully golden and delicious. Quick, simple, and easy to make. Take the cakes out and enjoy them with hot tea. Yummy!!
