Ingredients

10 minutes
3 servings
  1. 1.5 cupsoaked moth dal
  2. 1medium sized potato chopped
  3. 1big tomato chopped
  4. 1small chopped onion
  5. 3 tspmustard oil
  6. 1/2 tsppanch photon
  7. SomeChopped coriander
  8. Some chopped green chilli
  9. 1red chilli
  10. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  11. To tasteSalt as per taste
  12. 1 tspMustard paste
  13. Ingredients for mustard paste
  14. 3 tspmustard seeds
  15. 1 inchginger
  16. 2green chillies
  17. 7-8 clovesgarlic
  18. Some water

Steps

10 minutes
  1. 1

    First of all make the mustard paste by grinding all the ingredients.

  2. 2

    In a pressure cooker you can put 2 tsp of oil.

  3. 3

    Then add the punch phoron add red chilli in it and when the mustard in the panch phoron crackles then add the chopped onion and saute it for sometime till it becomes golden in colour.

  4. 4

    Then add the chopped tomato in it and cook it for 2 minutes and then add the chopped potatoes and the soaked moth dal in it.

  5. 5

    Then add the turmeric powder and salt and mix it well and cook it for 5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Then add the mustard paste along with some water and cover the lid and cook it till one whistle.

  7. 7

    Switch off the flame and wait till the gas automatically released from the cooker.

  8. 8

    Then add the remaining 1 tsp of mustard oil, chopped coriander leaves and chilli(optional) in it and mix it well.

  9. 9

    Taste better when cool completely to room temperature and garnish with some chopped coriander leaves.

  10. 10

    Goes well as a side dish with plain rice.

  11. 11

    You can also cook it in pan.
