Steps
- 1
Bring 2 cups milk (about 500 ml) and the salt to a boil.
- 2
Gradually add 1 cup of flour, stirring constantly. When a dough forms, remove from heat.
- 3
Let the dough cool slightly. Knead it with the remaining 1 cup of flour.
- 4
Once the dough is smooth, roll it into ropes and cut into pieces about 1/2 inch (1 cm) thick.
- 5
Roll each piece over the tines of a fork to shape the gnocchi.
- 6
Bring a large pot of salted water with a little oil to a boil. Add the gnocchi. They will sink to the bottom. When they float to the surface, they are done. Drain and serve.
