Ingredients

  • 3large French rolls (bolillos)
  • 1.1 lbspiloncillo (about 500 grams)
  • 4 1/4 cupsmilk (1 liter)
  • 1cinnamon stick
  • as neededOil,

Steps

  1. 1

    First, slice the French rolls (bolillos) into thin rounds and let them air dry.

  2. 2

    Heat the milk with the piloncillo and cinnamon stick until the piloncillo dissolves and everything is well combined.

  3. 3

    Fry the bread slices until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Once golden, dip the slices in the milk mixture, arrange them in a pot, pour a little more milk over them, and simmer over low heat.
