Steps
- 1
Heat the milk in a deep pan. Add salt, sugar, ghee, and all-purpose flour. Stir continuously while adding the flour, then turn off the heat. Let the mixture cool, then knead gently. Cover with a damp cloth and set aside.
- 2
Take a portion of the dough and roll it out. Use a cup or bowl to cut it into three pieces. Place the three pieces together. Using your finger, make an indentation in the center. Cut a square piece as well.
- 3
In the center indentation, use a knife to make three cuts in a circular shape. Stick each section upward to form rose-like petals. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the pithas until golden brown.
- 4
To make the syrup, boil sugar and water until it becomes slightly sticky. Turn off the heat. Place the fried gulab pithas in the warm syrup for a few minutes, then remove.
- 5
Your Gulab Pitha is ready to serve.
- 6
Do not change the quantity of any ingredient, or the gulab pitha may not turn out correctly and could break apart in the pan.
