Put the chicken on a boiled water. Add garlic powder, salt, ginger, 3 tablespoons of honey, brown sugar and pepper.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C)

After the chicken cooked through, put the chicken in a roasting tin and baste with the butter, soy sauce and the remaining honey, reserving any extra. Bake the chicken for one hour.

Cover it loosely with aluminium foil after the first 10-15 minutes or the honey in the marinade will burn. Baste the chicken a few times during cooking, adding some of the reserved marinade if it starts to look dry.

Transfer chicken to a cutting board and let stand 10 to 15 minutes before carving.
