Heat the water in the microwave or in a saucepan until hot but not boiling. Place the flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl. Gradually add the water, mixing until you have a smooth dough.

If using a stand mixer, add the liquid first, then the flours, salt, and baking powder. Mix for about 5 minutes.

Let the dough rest for at least 30 minutes.

Heat sunflower oil in a frying pan.
Fill a churro maker with the dough and pipe it into the hot oil.

Fry until golden on one side, then flip and fry the other side.
Transfer the porras to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Cut them to your desired length.
