Steps

30 mins
  1. 1

Place the chicken breast in a saucepan over heat and add water to cover the chicken.

  2. 2

Keep the chicken over heat until it is cooked then remove from heat. Set to cool then fragment it into thread-like pieces.

  3. 3

Chop the onions into wings then fry in a saucepan with half a cup of oil until the onion wilts.

  4. 4

Add the sumac over the onions and mix. Then add in the fragmented chicken and fry well. Season with salt and black pepper.

  5. 5

Leave the chicken and onion filling over heat while stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Then remove the saucepan from heat.

  6. 6

Divide each loaf of bread into 4 sections in the form of triangles then dip the bread triangles in oil.

  7. 7

Place 2 tablespoons of the filling inside each bread section then wrap the bread in the form of a funnel making sure to close it from the bottom.

  8. 8

Place the msakhan sandwiches in a pan coated with olive oil and place in the oven until the surface of the sandwiches turns lightly brown.

  9. 9

    Serve the “msakhan” sandwiches hot.

I teach history in an elementary school outside the capital and i really looove my job.I am still a beginner cook but i am now turning it to one of my hobbies.During our lunch break, the teachers talk about food and what they are cooking every day. At the beginning i was too shy to discuss or talk to them about my cooking because they all seem sooooo experts. But now that my mother taught me some of her great recipe and I have discovered Shahiya I am cooking more and I feel confident to talk about it very freely… I am really proud of the recipe my mom gave me, especially the traditional Jordanian ones. My 2 kids are too young to taste them but I am sure that one day they will love them… These days my kids just love the desserts recipes that I found on shahiya.Thank you shahiya!! i have added some of my recipes and i hope you all enjoy them. Favorite things to cook: . Dishes I am famous for: my delicious sandwiches especially grilled eggplant Panini
