Ingredients

30 minutes
4 servings
  1. 1 cupmoong dal
  2. 1 cupghee
  3. 2 cupswater
  4. 1 cupsugar
  5. Few strands of saffron soaked in 1/4 cup warm milk
  6. As neededFlakes of almond and pistachios
  7. As neededRose petals to garnish (optional)

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Wipe moong dal with a dry kitchen towel

  2. 2

    Grind moong dal in pulse mode 7 to 8 times to a gritty powder

  3. 3

    Heat ghee in a deep sauce pan. Add the ground moong dal.

    Keep stirring on a low flame till 10 to 12 minutes

    Boil water in other vessel in the mean time

    When the dal ghee mixture is nicely roasted to a brown colour gradually add the boiling hot water.

    Next goes the sugar and cardamon powder.Stir well

    Add the saffron milk

    Continue to Cook till it leaves the sides of the pan

  10. 10

    Switch of the flame.Add the nuts. Ready to serve. Garnish with rose petals to add to it's beauty.
