Chicken with Peppers, BBQ, and Honey
A mix of flavors, made by me.
Steps
- 1
First, marinate the chicken pieces with: 1 tablespoon of honey, about 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce, about 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, a little salt, a pinch of garlic powder, and pepper. Mix and let it rest in the refrigerator.
- 2
While the chicken is resting, cut the bell peppers, carrots, and onion into julienne strips.
- 3
In a pan, add a splash of oil and sauté the onion. Once the onion is ready, add the carrots, cover, and let them cook on low heat for 5 to 10 minutes (until the carrots are tender but not fully cooked).
- 4
Next, add the chicken along with the marinade. At this step, I added more soy sauce and BBQ sauce. Mix and let it cook until the chicken is done.
- 5
Once the chicken is ready, add the bell peppers and incorporate all the ingredients. Cover and let it cook for another 5 to 10 minutes. At this point, I added sesame seeds, but that's up to you.
- 6
Once all the vegetables are ready, serve and, if you like, add more sesame seeds. And DONE! Enjoy. NOTE: The BBQ sauce is habanero-flavored, but the honey made it super tasty. You can use any BBQ sauce you prefer.
