Ingredients

  1. 500 gmsChhole or White chana (Washed and soaked overnight)
  2. 4-5medium sized tomatoes
  3. 1 " ginger
  4. to tasteSalt
  5. as neededRefined oil
  6. 1 tspRed chilli powder
  7. 1 tspHaldi powder / turmeric powder
  8. 3-4 TspCoriander powder
  9. 1 tspAmchur powder /dry mango powder
  10. 1 tspgaram masala
  11. a pinchHeeng / asafoetida
  12. 1 tspjeera / cumin
  13. as requiredWater
  14. as requiredFresh coriander leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    Boil Chana by adding salt, haldi and 1 tsp refined oil.

    Make puree of tomato and ginger.

    Take a wok, add refined oil, crackle heeng and jeera.

    Now add tomato puree with all other spices. Cook till oil separates.

    Then add Chana (water if required). Cook it for 15-20 mins. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Ready to serve.
