This is an oil free recipe. Kaale channe(Black grams) with gravy is delicious and can be had with rice or chapati.

Wash and soak black grams for 5-6hrs. Drain water before use.In a pressure cooker put all the ingredients except dry fenugreek leaves.Add 3/4 cup of water, mix. Close lid. keep on high flame till 1 whistle and then lower the flame and cook till 15 minutes or till Chanais done.

Open the pressure cooker mix everything together and evaporate the water on high flame, keep stirring in between.

When water evaporates completely and all the other ingredients are well cooked add 1-1/2 cups of water to it to make gravy.

To the gravy add dry and crushed fenugreek leaves, coriander leaves. Boil it for 3-4 minutes. Kaale channel is ready to serve.
