Ingredients

  1. For masala paste:
  2. 2 tspoil
  3. 1onion, thinly sliced
  4. 3 clovesgarlic
  5. 1 inchginger
  6. 2tomatoes , finely chopped
  7. 8whole cashews
  8. Otheringredients:
  9. 2 cupssoya chunks
  10. 3 tspoil
  11. 1 tspcumin seeds / jeera
  12. 1bay leaf / tej patta
  13. 1/2 tspturmeric powder / haldi
  14. 1 inchcinnamon stick / dalchini
  15. 1onion, finely chopped
  16. to tastesalt
  17. 1 tspkashmiri chilli powder / lal mirch powder
  18. 1 tspcoriander powder / dhaniya powder
  19. 1/4 cupcurd / yoghurt, fresh
  20. 1 cupwater
  21. 1 tspkasuri methi / dry fenugreek leaves, crushed
  22. 1/4 tspgaram masala

Cooking Instructions

    Firstly, boil soya chunks for 8 minutes and transfer to a bowl of cold water.
    allow to rest for 10 minutes and squeeze completely.

    MASALA PASTE:
    firstly, heat kadhai and add oil and saute onion, ginger and garlic.
    also add tomatoes, cashews and saute well.
    blend to smooth paste. keep aside.

    SOYA CHUNKS CURRY :
    firstly, in a large kadhai heat oil.
    further, add cumin, bay leaf, cinnamon stick and saute.
    then add finely chopped onions and saute.
    also add chilli powder and turmeric.
    now add prepared onion-tomato masala paste and saute.
    additionally add coriander powder and salt.

    Furthemore, add water and curd. Mix well.
    now add squeezed soya and cover the kadhai. simmer for 10 minutes.
    later add kasuri methi and garam masala.
    finally, mix well and serve.
