In a pot add the oil and butter then add the whole spices (cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, cloves) allow to sizzle

Add the onions and braise until a nice brownish colour

Add the ginger&garlic, all spices (turmeric and jeera) and cook few seconds then add the tomato cook for like 5 minutes

Add the buttermilk and yogurt cook for 15 minutes until the onions start to cook away on a medium heat not high

Add the chicken cook few minutes

Add the rice, potato, lentils, curry leaves, coriander leaves and chillies, mix well

Add some dollops of butter on top close pot with some foil and steam for 15 minutes on low heat.

Serve with veggies, poppodams, dahi and atchar, Enjoy
